A POINT OF VIEW
Before I ever collected clothes, I collected observations.
Long before Riposte had a name, something kept happening.
Women would stop me in cafés, on Lisbon streets, outside school gates.
“Where is that skirt from?”
“That dress is beautiful.”
“You always wear the most interesting pieces.”
Sometimes they wanted to know the brand.
Sometimes it was simply a compliment.
What stayed with me wasn’t any single conversation.
It was how often they happened.
My work revolved around culture and consumer behaviour — understanding how people live, what they value, and why certain ideas quietly become part of everyday life.
Fashion was never the starting point.
It was one expression of a much bigger conversation.
For years, my role was to observe those movements, connect them, and translate them into stories, ideas and creative direction for fashion brands.
That way of looking never left me.
My perspective was shaped between Brazil and Portugal.
Brazil gave me an appreciation for colour, craftsmanship and expressive dressing.
Portugal taught me the beauty of restraint, rhythm and permanence.
Neither defines my taste on its own.
Together, they taught me to recognise pieces with character — wherever they come from.
Riposte grew naturally from that instinct.
Not as a destination for a particular country, style or trend.
But as a carefully edited selection of pieces that deserve to be found again.
Brazil nurtured my appreciation for colour, craftsmanship and expressive dressing.
Portugal taught me restraint, rhythm and permanence.
Together, they taught me something far more valuable:
how to recognise pieces with character, wherever they come from.
Because Riposte isn’t built on knowing what’s next.
It’s built on recognising what deserves to last.
